I got it from Roy and Helen Hall Memorial Library, Mckinney. I watched the movie on my laptop. When president William Mckinley was assassinated in 1901, it made the vice president (Theodore Roosevelt), an “accidental” president at the age of 42. He was young and ebullient, and embodied America at the turn of the century. He acted as a reformer, who used power of the government to improve the lives of the ordinary Americans. He extended the power of the president and the role of U.S in ordinary Americans, and also the role of U.S in international affairs. He used the developing mass media to enlarge his image and manipulate public opinion.Roosevelt’s legacy is still evident today in areas such as government regulations, foreign policy, and the national park system. Yet, behind the vigor and optimism was a man shadowed by tragedy. The documentary starts with an overview of Roosevelt’s life and personality. It gives us an in-depth view of Roosevelt’s life; relationship, tragedies, love, friendships. His childhood asthma problem and his strong relationship with his father. This documentary deals with almost every aspect of his life.It features reading of Roosevelt’s words by Richard Dreyfuss and interviews with President Bill Clinton, Governor George Pataki of New York, Authors H.W. Brands and Edmund Morris, and a number of the 26th president’s descendants- all of which perceptibly illuminate the life of this sui generis
