Analysis Of The 2016 Presidential Race By Bernie Sanders

The 2016 presidential race is catching fire, especially because of this year’s candidates on each side. The Republicans have double the candidates than the Democrats do. Bernie Sanders has become one of the prominent democratic candidates in the running, only second to Hillary Clinton. He leads the polls in Iowa and New Hampshire. His goal is mostly to attract voters, which means he just wants people to go and vote. He is already getting younger voters who support him, they are spreading his ideas. Many Americans are beginning to hear this presidential candidate rage against “the billionaire class.” But what they do not see and hear is that he is just like the other U.S. senators by his actions and words: delivering services to veterans, Medicare for the elderly, and defense spending for their state (Burleigh). Bernie Sanders brings many new topics of discussion including free college tuition, immigration reform, and the democratic socialist point of view to the table and is more than a valuable candidate for the Democratic presidential seat.

Bernie believes that socialism is democracy, “with a small d,” (Kruse). Humans have the right to control their own lives, and that there is no separation between the political structure and the economic structure. Another thing he believes that socialism is that poverty is absolutely unnecessary, international relations are based on cooperation, not greed, and where human beings can own the means of working together. Although there is a negative connotation to the word socialist, there is nothing actually wrong with it.
