Autocracy Government Form Of Government

Every country has some form of Government whether it’s an Autocracy government, an Oligarchy government, or a Totalitarian government. Here in America we follow a Democratic- Republic System that allows the citizens of America to elect their own leader. Eligible American citizens are allowed to vote on representatives to govern their city, state, and whom they wish to elect for the President of United States. The President of United States is allowed to serve two, four year terms if elected because of the twenty second amendment in the U.S. Constitution. Americas most popular political parties are the Republican party and the Democratic party. Americas’ current President is Barack Obama, whom belongs to the democratic party. Today America is currently in the middle of a primary election for a new president, and the presidential hopefuls have taken to the media to convince American voters to vote for them. Media is not only used to pursued Americans to vote but, it’s also used to reflect on current issues in America and around the world. There are many types of media such as social media, news media, magazines, and radio, and it has become one of America’s main tools for accessing and sharing current news. Instead of media reporting on how and why each candidate is fit to govern our precious United States of America, they are focused on all the bickering and name calling each candidate has to say about one another. For example, the Republican presidential hopefuls have been shaming and downgrading one another every chance they get, and instead of the news media reporting on what the candidates have to say about current political issues, their reporting on the nonsense name calling. The media has turned our presidential election into an entertainment source for America, instead of capturing the important information of why each candidate will serve our country the best. The news media is picking and choosing what they wish to report on in order to gain more views for their purposes. According to a report written by Ben Harack, he states, “We now have horse-race reporting on elections, where we spend more time talking about who has the lead and who is catching up,” he goes on to say, “we hear more about the statues of the polls than the global and nation-shaping issues that form the candidate’s platform,” (Media Speed’s Negative Effect on Politics).
