This is not an issue that is easily solved, partially because the Biblical authors never could have dreamed of such a practice being widely available. IVF is something that can help people produce children, but it should not acceptable for Christians because it is not the true picture of love that is described in Genesis 2 between a man and a woman. This is not to say that humans born out of IVF are any less human, because they are fully human, but to underscore the Biblical view of marriage and children. Sex should be the natural way for people to conceive children, and while there are often complications in childbearing, there are many options that Christians should consider as good, if not better, than IVF. Dr. Moore is an expert on addressing the tough questions, and I appreciated his straightforward answers as well as his knowledgeable insight about these tricky subjects. I am the Senior Youth Intern, presiding over High School freshman through seniors. After this summer ends, I will be attending Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina. I will be moving to North Carolina for the duration of my Masters and Doctorate Degree (Lord willing), and I look forward to seeing what God has in store for my life. This will be a new life experience for me, as I have no family or relatives that currently reside in North Carolina, but I look forward to the opportunity that I will have to spread God’s Kingdom to a place that is completely foreign to me.
