In-Vitro Fertilization Research Paper

I really enjoyed his answer about the validity of In-Vitro Fertilization. In class, he said that IVF is something that disengages a male and a female from the sexual act of bring a child into the world, as donor eggs and sperm are joined in a petri dish to create human embryos. This process, besides the fact that the millions of embryos have been destroyed to perfect this process, is not natural. Dr. Moore believes that IVF allows anyone to have children, regardless of their sex, and destroys the tradition of children being brought into the world by two loving parents through sexual intercourse. Childbearing through IVF is not the fruit of the love of a man and a woman; it is something created in a lab for two individuals who desire to have …show more content…
Moore, and I think that his opinion is wise in this day and age. This is not an issue that is easily solved, partially because the Biblical authors never could have dreamed of such a practice being widely available. IVF is something that can help people produce children, but it should not acceptable for Christians because it is not the true picture of love that is described in Genesis 2 between a man and a woman. This is not to say that humans born out of IVF are any less human, because they are fully human, but to underscore the Biblical view of marriage and children. Sex should be the natural way for people to conceive children, and while there are often complications in childbearing, there are many options that Christians should consider as good, if not better, than IVF. Dr. Moore is an expert on addressing the tough questions, and I appreciated his straightforward answers as well as his knowledgeable insight about these tricky subjects. I also enjoyed how his opinions were a good mixture of Biblical Truth and careful insight, and I respect his careful study of these difficult …show more content…
I am the Senior Youth Intern, presiding over High School freshman through seniors. After this summer ends, I will be attending Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina. I will be moving to North Carolina for the duration of my Masters and Doctorate Degree (Lord willing), and I look forward to seeing what God has in store for my life. This will be a new life experience for me, as I have no family or relatives that currently reside in North Carolina, but I look forward to the opportunity that I will have to spread God’s Kingdom to a place that is completely foreign to me. This summer, please pray for discernment and wisdom for me as I continue to pursue the Lord. Also, I would sincerely appreciate if you would pray about my relationships over the summer, that they would be gratifying to

Is IVF ever morally justified? According to Peter Singer, he does acknowledge the objections against IVR, but he believes that these objections are not strong enough to override the reason why IVR can overcome infertility. IVF is a way of using an egg taken from the wife and the sperm taken from the husband, the embryo is created which is then inserted into the wife. This, however, plays many ethical roles, and there are many objections that come with it. One opposition is that IVR is unnatural.…

Ultimately, science has to catch up with reality. In developed countries couples are waiting longer to get married and start families and for some technology such as IVF is a last resort to conserving children. There is a cultural shift in the west where couples are starting families later in life due to the pursuit of education, travel, career and other goals. As a result, issues with fertility and birth defects are going to become more common. When these couples are attempting to conceive and nothing else has worked IVF can be used before looking into other options such as…

This is a newspaper article written in 2015 about the UK’s legalization of 3-parent IVF, the creation of a baby with three parents. Prior to the legalization of this technique, a zygote with defects in its mitochondria often caused the infant to suffer from conditions such as diabetes and deafness. This technique will allow a zygote to avoid such defects. This is essentially eugenics! While acknowledging eugenics’ dirty past, the article encourages people to rethink about this practice.…

In reflection of the theme of my creative portfolio, a woman’s perspective on infertility, I have chosen an artwork by Heidi Holmes as my first artifact. What might appear as many dots scattered about on a wall, is actually thousands of pressed hydrangeas (1). Within the glass jar also seen in the photograph is thousands of more hydrangeas which are acting as potpourri scented like baby powder (1). This photograph of an exhibit by Holmes does indeed have a connection to infertility. This connection, which I will expound on, has to do with Holmes personal experience with infertility and confronts ideas such as the struggles women have when using In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF).…

Morality Vs. Evolution on the Improvement of Life: Embryonic Stem Cell Research In Beau Watts' essay "Embryonic Stem Cell Research: A Moral Evil or Obligation" (December 2011), the author claims that embryonic stem cells are the answer for humanity to have an overall better life. Watts, an emergency room physician in Kansas City, Missouri explains the complex properties of embryonic stems cells while also discussing the properties of other proponents for altering genes, such as embryonic germ cells, and adult stem cells. He highlights how the other cells are not as promising to use for the research, even though people argue that experiments on embryonic cells are morally unacceptable.…

Should Christians use birth control?," 2015) The interpretation is then, preventing procreation and the bearing of children is against the standard set by a firmly religious organization. However, these standards and stances are completely voluntary to be accepted by each person or not which I will illustrate in my second…

When he relates human cloning and invitro fertilization I think he loses a lot of people who might agree with him because they do agree with IVF. Also, in my opinion these are two very different things. IVF is simply fertilizing an egg with a sperm outside of the body, using two sets of genetic information to create a child. Cloning is using one set of genetic material and forcing it to divide. It is not fertilization at all.…

The killing of embryos is simply genocide, unnervingly similar to Hitler’s murder of the Jewish people during World War II (Dudley). Humanitarian and moral standards forbid this killing of innocent human life. For Christians and other religious peoples, teachings of the Bible provide clear evidence against the murder of embryos in embryonic stem cell research. Throughout the entire religious writing, there is no lesson that shows that God would approve of the death of embryos, or children, for the purpose of curing disease. God is always shown protecting children, not sacrificing them (“What is the Christian View”).…
