This has been a most hard and difficult week for all of us as our nation, as our allies especially the people of Britain, and of course all the world suffer loss at the hands of violence. As we the people of society and of the church keep dealing with repeated violence all around us, it is imperative that we hold tightly to the word of God that is most healing and helpful to all who continue to experience grief upon grief. Even as we cannot even begin to comprehend the reasons and causes of senseless acts of hate, the word of God still sustains us, soothes us, and saves us. Quite frankly, the gospel of Jesus Christ is not meant for entertainment, but empowerment. The grace of the gospel gives us the empowerment to make confession, to be convicted in one’s belief and in the righteousness, redemption and renewal of God.
