For most people when the present becomes the past they move on with their lives and forget about it. However, some people can't accept that the past is over and strive to go back. In the novel ‘The Great Gatsby’, Gatsby has a problem accepting that the past is over and tries to recapture it. Though, this is impossible he does everything he can to accomplish his goal. His goal of getting Daisy to love him is ultimately shattered. When people try to relive the past the they end up with a lot of lost hope.
