Argumentative Essay: Should There Be Bullied?

Improved Essays
I believe in the power of listening, encouraging, and supporting those who are hurting from being mistreated or bullied. There is so much hate in the world we live in today and that needs to change. So many people are being bullied or being judged that it leads to many people having social anxiety. Social anxiety can lead to people avoiding trying out new activities, or meeting new people, lest they subject themselves to further judgement, humiliation, or depression. Human rights is the belief that everybody should be treated equally and humanely regardless of their circumstances. Growing up in my hometown and seeing the way kids would treat one another was something that I hated seeing every day. The kids that had parents that supported them and had a lot of money, were mostly the kids that were considered “popular.” They would always have the newest clothes and the newest technology. They had the money to go out and play in sports and be in clubs. The other kids that didn’t have that and didn’t have the certain looks or personality were treated horribly. If my grandparents never took us in, we never would have had support or the money we needed. I think that if I still lived with my parents I would have ended up being one of the kids that got bullied. I also never let anyone see or find out about my life outside of school when I did live with my parents. I did, however, see the way others treated others and I made it a value in my life to never become that type of person. Every chance I get to make someone 's day better I make the opportunity. I have been told that I am a good listener, which is one of my favorite core values about myself. I love being there for people and listening to how they

As a result, I've excelled in my studies and my family continued to ridicule me because I loved being in school. My personality matured to an independent individual. Furthermore, I'd rather figure every single thing out on my own, since that's the way I've grown up. I've grown up, up to this point, without my father and my mother barely around from work. Yet, no matter what, I remain thankful that they attempted to become remotely involved.…

Hungry for Change Why is it that law mandates public school meals have a minimum calorie intake, but not a maximum? This owes itself to the fact that when nutrition standards were established for public schools, it was to solve the problem of undernourishment. The majority of school aged children used to walk to school, played more outside, and were more active in sports. This resulted in children burning more calories than school meals provided.…

“With freedom of speech comes great responsibility and one has to be sensitive to the people within a society, so there has to be a limit to what can be said” (Jon Benjamin). Ever since the Bill of Rights was approved in 1791, arguments about freedom of speech have consistently taken place. The American people have never been certain about what they can and cannot say. Although freedom of speech is valuable to the American way of life, it needs to be regulated to protect citizens from harmful hate speech that “assaults their dignity as human beings” (Heyman).…

Envision a nation where everyone who felt offended by music, art or literature tried to get the offensive content banded. This would create so many problems when the way people feel about something becomes more important than the actual laws that determine whether or not material should be censored. Though this can be a sensitive subject, I wish to proceed from the viewpoint of whether the artist of the song deserved to have this song pulled off radio stations across the United States. On December 14, 2012 a shooter opened fire on an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut that sparked emotion all across the country which lead to the ban of multiple songs that referenced death of young people and shootings. I’ve chosen to focus on the song…

There are various effective arguments I would make to support students having homework by their teachers. The first argument I would make is that homework helps students to better retain the lessons they’ve learned during the school day. Students need a lot of exercises to do to retain what they learn everyday in school. Since class time isn’t enough to provide a lot of exercises on one subject, homework is the best way to exercise what’s been learned in class. If no homework is given to students on a subject that’s been discussed in class, it’s more likely for them to forget the subject the next day.…

An Eye for an Eye When turning on the television, radio, or simply opening the local newspaper, news of arrests, murders, kidnappings, rape, and other such tragedies bombard people. Rarely is there an occasion where people can go throughout a day in this world without hearing of these events. There is a risk one takes when he/she decides to pull a trigger or plunge a knife, but around 1754 B.C. the stakes were even higher. “An eye for an eye” was the motto back when everything was done exactly as it sounded. If a person were to destroy the eye of another person, the man would get his eye taken out; this is why the phrase “an eye for an eye” was made (ushistory.org).…
