Duhigg said football players were under pressure “they went back into their comfort zones and old habits” and thus lost games (86). That is why many students choose to procrastinate. Sometimes studying is boring, tedious, and difficult and it is much easier to watch TV. By the same token, when the football players were actually motivated by something such as the death of someone “they started to believe” (87). Maybe something really needs to motivate students to not procrastinate. I believe students are way too comfortable with life. They live at home, they're dependent on their parent's income, for the most part, so they do not really face any backlash if they get bad grades. So, getting out of a comfort zone is very important if you want to change a habit. At first, I did not like the idea of going to a library, so I would go home. That was a bad idea, instead, I got out my comfort zone and went to the library and studied.
Another difficulty of changing habits is that the human brain “can’t tell the difference between bad and good habits” thus people have to put a lot of effort in order to change them (20).
