Power Of Gratitude Research Paper

Throughout the ages, people every era have been interested in the power of gratitude...

From a scientific point of view, the power of gratitude is a "high frequency" emotion, and as Rhonda Byrne from "The Secret" says, it's second only to love on the emotion scale.

I used to think that "thank you" was just a polite thing to learn to say. As children, we learn that we are given what we want only when we say "please" and "thank you".

This actually is not a bad thing to teach children, whether or not you believe in the "secret power of gratitude", since I think we can agree that it's a way to get people to help you out. You know how people are more willing to help you when you act appreciative.

However, this post is not how to manipulate people! This actually really rubs me the wrong way when I believe people are simply "acting" appreciative.

Again, not as a manipulation tool here. From a religious standpoint, "God knows what's in your heart"; and, from a scientific standpoint, "you can only truly elevate your emotions to a high enough frequency to make a change in your life when you feel TRUE gratitude in your heart."

Getting rich with the power of gratitude is nothing new. Wallace Wattles wrote "The Science of Getting Rich" way back in 1910, where his chapter on gratitude was his longest chapter.

It should also be noted that Albert Einstein made it his practice to say thank you at least a hundred times a day, thinking how grateful he was for the help of the information he had obtained from other scientists.

Gratitude positively affects one's emotions and actions. Being thankful generally increases positive emotions such as happiness and lessens negative emotions such as vainness. In Romans 1:21, the apostle Paul wrote that those who did not share gratitude towards God became vain and deluded; in other words, ingratitude makes for negative feelings. The act of being grateful builds positive feelings, such as that in Luke 17:11-19, where written is the Samaritan giving thanks to Jesus for curing his leprosy. In short, out of the ten healed leprous men, only the Samaritan had the decency to thank Jesus with utter gratitude for His merciful act.…

Savoring each and every sensory drop from any given moment will increase your gratitude towards life's seemingly mundane interactions. Which brings us to the large topic of gratitude which Wells, in conjunction with studies by psychologist Robert Emmons, explains that “Gratitude exercises can do more than life one’s mood… they improve physical health, raise energy levels, and, for patients with neuromuscular disease, relieve pain and fatigue.”…

The instant gratification and admiration that one feels from a gift of gratitude is overwhelming and sometimes hard to turn down. For example, when a firefighter goes above and beyond the duty to serve and protect it’s nice to have recognition of such efforts. In most instances, individuals have been grateful for such recognition and identified the acknowledgment is more than enough and gives of monetary value are not necessary. However, there are instances where the public will not take anything less and sometimes are insulted when their gift is denied or turned down. Islamic Scholars agree that destined hardships and difficulties (and also good fortune) “descend” (approaches its destined time) and are met by raising invocations (prayers); they struggle untill the Day of resurrection. If your prayers are weaker than this destined misfortune, then it will find its way to you but its impact may be reduced to various degrees; or good fortune may multiply as it too interacts with your prayers. You will better understand this after reading the section on Destiny, Freewill, and Invocation (Prayers). I will also later provide you with a list of Hadiths and verses that are of relevance to this topic. You will later read about the tie between destiny and freedom of choice as I risk plunging head first into the…
