We went to the same church for many, many years, so I developed many strong relationships and bonds with my fellow church members. Every Sunday, we sat in our same pew, and went through our weekly routine. One thing that always stood out to me was the praises and prayer requests part. There were always so many praises; they outweighed the prayer requests every time. However, they weren’t like normal praises to me. Instead, people were praising God for the bad times, as well as the good. They would go something like, “My husband is very sick, and it’s not looking so good. It’s really tough for me, but I’m trusting that God will take care of it. I’m thankful for that.” They didn’t mean He would magically cure him, but that His will would be done, and they accepted that it may not be the outcome they wanted. To me, that was true faith in something.
