Growing embryonic stem cells in labs can create millions. These cells can then be frozen and sent to other labs for further experimentation (“Stem Cell Basics”). So creating stem cell lines is what the scientists are doing in their labs or using existing stem cell lines to research embryonic stem cells. Stem cell lines are a large number of cells, all carrying the same genes, grown in laboratories through many cycles of growth and division over a lot of generations of cells. One cell line can be vital to researchers for which it can provide them with a huge numbers of cells (“Europe’s Stem Cell Hub”).
