The United States has seen an influx of international students over the past decade. The increasing number of students that enter the U.S. education who are not proficient in English has been challenging for educators. In order to alleviate some the stress on the student 's behalf many companies have begun producing software and other various forms of technology to help support these students’ education. These are students that not only have to develop critical skills, but they also have to do so in a language that is foreign to them. ELL students are often faced with the daunting task of not only developing their skill set, but doing so while learning a foreign language. It is vital that educators spend time researching how to better serve and help this growing area of students. A positive correlation from this study would look like ELL students’ grades improving, conversational English improving, and more importantly comfortability with the language itself improving. Identifying a positive relationship between educational technology and ELL students would help the growing population of non-native speaking students in the United States. Researchers need to determine the outcome and see if this positively affects students in both short and long term ways when added to classroom instruction.
