It may cause lung cancer, as substances in tobacco are dangerous for the human’s body. The risk of this type of cancer depends on how often and how long teenagers smoke. Even though doctors claim that this disease, consequently, can lead to death, adolescents do not care and continue to smoke. For example, the story of Bryan Curtis once again indicates the seriousness of it. He started to smoke at the age of thirteen, taking more than two packs per day. As far as Bryan could not quit smoking, doctors revealed lung cancer from which he died at the age of thirty three (Sue L., He wanted “You” to know, 1999). Beginning smoking from the early ages may also cause smokers to suffer from coughing for the rest of their life. Coughing is persistent and people experience it mainly in the mornings. In addition, it causes terrible chest pain and sounds irritating to listen. So, smokers even if they accustomed to the constant coughing, may disturb other people in their social life. Moreover, smoking may trigger to mental disorder such as depression, anxiety, and stress. According to the researchers, there are substances of tobacco which enhance the chance of symptoms of depression (The British Journal of Psychiatry, 2010, pp 425-26). In addition, the majority of individuals reports that smoking cigarettes calm them, nevertheless, this believe is wrong. Despite the fact that nicotine creates relaxation, it is a temporary sense.
