In the twentieth and twenty -first centuries the psychological knowledge about a human’s brain and their behavior significantly increased. On the other hand, in today’s society, psychology has to solve even more people’s issues. One of those issue is the stress reduction, and one therapy to decrease people’s stress and maintain relaxation is music therapy. Music helps create positive emotions by relaxation, which can be very antagonistic to the stress effect. (Scratelli,20). Music provides the high activation of the limbic system in a brain by its abstract sounds (Scratelli,24). In order to increase the positive effect of music on a brain and overall well-being, it is good to add music to the different type of relaxation. Some of those types …show more content…
In order to reduce stress with music, people have to first choose the right kind of music. The music taste is very subjective and vary for all individuals, however, the wrong music can even add stress. Overall, slower music is better in relaxation, and also happier music is better because it can more quickly bring the good memories, which increases a person well-being. On the other hands, sad songs are also important in order to help person to deal with heavy emotional events in life. Hard rock or heavy meal music can help people to overcome anger in order to relax. (Fitzpatrick.) In general, choosing the right music not only depends on person’s music taste, but also moods, level of stress, and what kind of emotions persons wants to overcome to feel better. Moreover, it is also good for every individual to create the playlist of music which is the most enjoyable for them. First of them is to add the music to the daily exercise. All of the exercises such as walking, running, yoga or stretching are the good ways to eliminate built-up tension and lactic acid that gets trapped in our bodies and creates stress and disease. Adding music can enhance the effect of eliminating built-up tension (Fitzpatrick). Combining music with work is also good for people’s health. Lots of workplaces are quiet which can create some stress. Adding music to daily routine tasks at work can reduce stress and also add more motivation to done with all of tasks faster and more accurate. Next daily activities which can be healthier with music is eating. All of the unhealthy diet can increase the toxicity and stress in the system (Fitzpatrick). Instead of eating in noisy and crowded places, it is better to choose peaceful place with some relaxing music in the background. There is also good to listen some music after hard day of school or work, it can be way more relaxing than other activities such as video games or Internet (Fitzpatrick).
