The Positive Effects Of Concussions

A concussion is a trauma induced alteration in mental status that may or may not result in loss of consciousness. A concussion is caused by an impact to the head, neck, or any body part that may cause jarring of the head. They are always serious even if it doesn't seem like it because they can be difficult to diagnose. There are laws in place that stop athletes from returning back to the sport the same day they received a concussion. Article 2 and 3 states all of this information with detail in a more serious matter. But Article 3 focuses more about the effects of concussions on someone even after it has seemingly healed. But the most compelling statement in this article is the fact that after the concussion, there is a period when your head is more vulnerable to sustain permanent damage to your brain. After one concussion, if another one is experienced while under the effects of the first, then the second one will be more severe and can even cause death. Even after one, someone can get head aches, feel dizziness, irritability and even depression. Article 1 shows that after one concussion, a persons chances of getting another one increase and recovery functions productivity decrease. Article 1 also states that some high school athletes can experience memory and lower performance in academics from the brain damage.
