“There are leaders and there are those who lead. Leaders hold a position of power or influence. Those who lead inspire us.” (START WITH WHY). Have you ever wonder how leaders inspire other individuals to take actions? In Simon Sinek’s book, Start With Why he talks about how great leaders inspire others and talks about those who are trying to find an individual to inspire them. Simon Sinek started off his book talking about making assumptions. In society today we make many different assumptions based on things surrounding our environment and sometimes even on incomplete or false information we are given. Sinek used General Motors as an example in his book. He talked about car sales and how manipulation is what wins many customers over when searching for a new car. Throughout the book, Sinek used many different companies, some successful and others who were not successful. One example he used was Southwest Airlines. This company was in a hardship but was able to overcome it because of their loyalty to customers due to their great leaders. …show more content…
WHAT is in every single business, every business is aware of WHAT they do. The WHATs in a company are easy to define, however, HOW is a little more in-depth. The HOW typically explains how some things are better or sometimes different. WHY is what makes a business or individual successful. WHY very few people understand or know in businesses today. WHY stands for the purpose of your company, the cause or belief. Sinek says, “Knowing WHY is essential for lasting success and the ability to avoid being lumped in with others” (pg. 47).
