Being one of the oldest ever to run for president, his health condition has been the subject due to his age and whether or not he could continue working in the office. He denied that his health condition would affect him during his run and did not want to release any documents that could sabotage his place for running. Halloran states in his article that, “McCain’s health and age have remained under the radar and the public have questioned his condition due to the ongoing campaign schedule he has maintained over the months. Voters seem to think that he is way too old to become president” (Halloran, 2008). Therefore, knowing if an elective representative health condition is important to the general public because than they would know if he can work without having any problems. Politicians are always socially pressured to give up on details on any medical conditions especially in the office and constantly in the public eye. Concealing such conditions can affect how they work and can become a health concern if a problem arises while in office. The individual should be expected to give up everything personal about them that could affect their working conditions if they want to run for office. President Richard Nixon tried to cover up the burglary attempt his team did. He taped conversations and taped them for his re-election purposes. When the conspiracy was discovered he tried to eliminate his ties with people involved. Williams states in his article, “Primary dependent of corruption is needed when candidates are to finance the election with the public’s help and private contributions” (Williams, 1981). Corruption seems to always be the back burden behind a lot of politician’s scandals that they try to cover up. Money seems to always be root issue as well when it comes to getting what they want as well. Trying to hide a corruption and the nation knowing about it will definitely not be good. Voters want someone they think is reliable and can run the job without having to go out of the way to sabotage their future calling in politics. This was not a private matter in the eyes of the public because they deserve to know Richard Nixon’s accountability on what he did. It could all lead to background issues that he could have had before being in the public eye such as gambling away or trying to ruin someone
