Imagine living in a society where the media skewed the accuracy of information only to manipulate the audience and boost ratings, now realize that the society described isn’t an imagination but rather a reality. Currently, the majority of individuals depend on news networks to further understand the happenings around the world. However, receiving news from one source feeds the viewer with biased ideas, intended to make the viewer think a certain way. The reason behind this lies on the ideologies of political parties. Although political parties are often related to the president or government, these parties are a huge component of the media. The media aims to teach the audience based on the ideas the news network believes or in other words the political party the media source favors. Furthermore, media is notorious for exaggerating some topics only to boost ratings. Higher ratings equal more money and with more money comes greater power. Media sources will only present information based on the perspective that will be most beneficial, therefore, it is crucial for the viewers to educate themselves of the bias in the media and learn how to find truth in a distorted journalism.
