The Pool of Siloam The Pool of Siloam was stumbled upon in 1880. Two boys were wading in a tunnel when they found an ancient looking pool of water. These boys probably did not realize how significant this well was to Biblical history. The tunnel that ran to this pool went through 1,749 feet of bed rock under the City of David (Achtemeier, Paul 952). This was stunning engineering for this time period. The pool of Siloam is located in the City of David inside Jerusalem. It sits on the western slope of the Ophel in the valley Tyropoeon. This pool was some 20 feet above the reservoir. The width of the tunnel measured four and a half feet and was a hundred and fifty feet below the city streets. Archaeologist believe that it originated around 701 B.C. (Achtemeier, Paul 952).

Water was limited inside city walls and this was the only fresh source. Jesus rubbed spit on a blind man’s eyes and suddenly he could see again at this very place. Christ also healed a man’s crippled hand at this well (Barclay, William 42). These miracles make this water source quite significant.
Bates 2 What do critics say about this miraculous pool? They believe that it was just a well. Oddly, they leave out the miracles like they never happened (Gotquistions.org). However, the supporters say this is a significant place. We look at this well as evidence for Christ miracles (biblicalarchaeology.org). In the Bible the book of John, chapter nine, tells us this story therefore, it must be true. I believe this is proof of his miracles. This only supports the scripture. This is also accurate since it is written from years before by eye-witnesses of Jesus. This can only be genuine since it is written in the Bible. Photo source:

The next stop on our tour throughout Spain is in Segovia. This small city may seem like it doesn't have much and is painfully out of the way, but it does have a massive piece of history that absolutely cannot be missed. Not only does it have an ancient Roman aqueduct, but the ancient town of Segovia is also home to an enormous cathedral, a fairytale castle, and most importantly to me it is the birthplace to many very important quintessentially Spanish dishes. The town is so chock full of history that in 1985 the entire old city of Segovia and its aqueduct were declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. Just a few hour drive from Madrid, Segovia feels like a different world.…

Beginning with the structure of the pyramid, the creation of waterways allowed transport of sandstone to the pyramid from far away. With the creation of a natural stream to work this, the first time the humans who built the temple needed: was a quarry. Not to far down from the current position of the temple, a horseshoe shaped sandstone quarry stands as an artifact of a time long ago. The scientists who discovered this structure came to an agreed idea that humans had to either push the block through wet sand all the way back to the temple right, or get to use the nile as a resource (Narjas). This is also evidence that sandstone could be found in the water, leading to the idea that the Egyptians tried to use the water as a form of transport, but may have lost some of the sandstone blocks in the process.…
