The political history of the United States from Reconstruction to the 1920 was completely outrageous. After the Civil War ended, 1863, and as President Abraham Lincoln took the responsibility to restore the south he was assassinated. Andrew Johnson took over and the animosity between Andrew Johnson and Congress guarantee that the Reconstruction as President Lincoln could have said, would be unsuccessful. The election of 1876 left the Southern, United States worst than it was before leaving the nation incredibly divided.

April 15, 1865 President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated days after the Civil War had terminated. John W. Booth killed President Lincoln, without leaving a valid reasoning to the nation. President Lincoln’s team stopped and stared at the weapon, given a title “the cause of such mighty changes in the world’s history as we may perhaps never realize.” People by then that were currently celebrated the end of the civil war were then devastated by the assassination of the faith of the nation.

President Johnson was by far one of the worst presidents the United States could have ever had. Johnson and Congress guarantee that the Reconstruction would fail. During 1865 through 1867, it was assured that the south could never be successful because President Johnson was racist. President Johnson established new all white government, which looked suspiciously alike to the old confederate governments.
