Transit managers are responsible for coordinating and overseeing the work activities to ensure that they comply with national, state, and local transportation policies. It is important for transportation managers to understand different policies because it provides guidance to an efficient and effective transportation agency. For example, the majority of California’s transit agencies support policies that are in favor of reducing greenhouse gases. California’s mission is to go green.
