The Pointless Existence Argument By Erik Wielenberg

What is life? Are we just some complex organisms that magically appeared on earth? In this paper, I plan to argue the pointless existence argument by Erik Wielenberg. He simply said that life without a goal is pointless and without any goals no man/women has an eternal meaning. Basically, everyone is born just to die at some undetermined point in time; no one is predestined for anything. No matter how small or simple, everything that dwells on earth has a purpose. Life purpose varies from the simplicity of a bird to the wonders of human life. Everything has a purpose; everything was made to glorify God; and we as humans all have a purpose, whether it be intended for good or bad. Now what you believe is your choice, I’m just going to drop a teaspoon of knowledge on you. We all have free will, which basically means you could do whatever you want whenever. Let me simplify it for you with this hypothetical fable; a king in Egypt has a son. Only his mother and father know that once the king dies, the son will rule as king. Sitting in his room, the young prince begins to grow tiresome. He wants to do more than sit in his room and get served. He wants to explore the world. Everything that God created has a purpose. We as humans may not understand life in entirety, but that’s just the complexity of life. If one truly is trying to find his/her purpose, in my opinion, they must have patience and seek God. Patience because nothing will be easy, the things we want the most will come with the hardest struggles and obstacles to overcome. If we stick through the hard times, eventually our purpose will be revealed to us. If we seek God not only will our purpose be shown to us, but also it will fulfill out empty hearts. It will bring an unimaginable joy, which only one can experience through their experience
