Winston Smith: Winston is a thirty-nine year old man who is an outer party worker in the Ministry of Truth’s Department of Records. On his right ankle he has a varicose ulcer. He sees problems in the world and questions society. He takes many risks to discover truth, to be with his dear love, and to find a way to save society.

The Party: The Party is the central power of the superstate of Oceania. It is divided into four Ministries: the Ministry of Truth, the Ministry of Love, the Ministry of Peace, and the Ministry of Plenty. Each of those Ministries are made up of many different Departments. The Party is consisted of an Inner Party and an Outer Party. Inner Party members are more privileged people of society while the Outer Party is comparable to the middle class. The figurehead of the Party is Big Brother who sees all. Their Slogan is:

He begins to question the world he lives in. It is a world full of darkness that hides of the future and dust that holds the remains of the past. He meets O’Brien and Julia. Winston falls in love with Julia and finds that O’Brien understands and is on his side. There are no laws, but the Party has control over the people. There is something going on. Newspeak is destroying the human language, doublethink is destroying the human mind, and mutability of the past is destroying human history. Winston and Julia seek true freedom and decide to join the Brotherhood which is a conspiracy group against the party. Their only escape and sanctuary is the attic of an old antique shop. With the eyes of Big Brother always watching them there is no safe place. They are found and arrested.
