Since Jacob von Konigshofen is a historian, he is providing very reliable facts which also provide the hardcore truth of the discrimination of the Jews. According to Friar Michael of Piazza, Italy in 1361, the friars’ dedication to their people in Italy was sublime and completely loyal even when they became infected themselves (Doc #6). By showing complete dedication, this allowed for people to put their faith in others that they believed could be their saviour from an almost certain death. As a Friar himself, Friar Michael is exaggerating on the sacrifice himself and his colleagues are making in which they so extraordinarily save the civilians from the plague. According to an Illuminated Manuscript from 1350 that shows English monks infected with the plague being blessed by the bishop, the bishops had great exposure to the people and they were greatly outnumbered (Doc #9). These monks are taking advantage of their last chance of staying alive by putting their faith completely in another’s hands with all the hopefulness that the plague won’t conquer
