It focused on their response to different types of living space and which they would consider as a more preferable home. Specifically, it sought to explore the question as to which type of material, hard or soft, would the pill bugs find more comfortable. Pill bugs, or Armadillidium vulgare, are crustaceans with adaptations that allow it to survive in a terrestrial lifestyle in comparison to marine isopods. John Cloudsley-Thompson, along with other researchers, observed these adaptations, specifically their walking legs. These flat appendages allow them to crawl upwards on surfaces against the push of gravity, making them efficient climbers. (Warburg 1993). They are also commonly found in damp and decaying leaf litter (Aune 2017). Under the impression that they preferred damp material due to the extra comfort it provided, we hypothesized that, if the pill bugs would prefer the soft environment over the hard one, then 50% of their recorded locations in the given time will be moss instead of
