The Pigman Relationships

Decent Essays
In this novel the Pigman by Paul Zindel, relationship(s) can be defined as, the way in which two or more concepts, objects, or people are connected, or the state of being connected. We will elaborate on the following relationship(s) of a) Parents b) Pigman and c) Peers.

Firstly, the connection between the parents and the kids isn’t the greatest, for John and his father they have a deep conflict when his father asks him to join the coffee exchange John’s reply is “I want to be an actor and his father's response is "Don't be a jackass" and "Thank God Kenneth isn't a lunatic", as for Lorraine and her mother relation is terrible because her mother would be selfishly wanting Lorraine to stay home and also mentally abusing Lorraine, she also spoke that “you are not pretty” and “you wear your clothes funny”.

Secondly, the bond between the kids and the Mr. Pignati is better than their parents, Mr. Pignati wouldn't criticize them, the way their parent do that why they love and hang out with him. they met Mr. Pignati when they prank called him as a charity fundraiser and after John when to collect the money from him. Bobo is a monkey in a zoo and also pigman's friend. the pigman's connection between Bobo is better than Lorraine and John's have with their parents.

like most of us, we also have people we don't like talking, their association with Norton is like that it's on a negative side due to the fact that he has had a streak of stealing, like when he stole marshmallows and got caught, from then on everyone knew him as "The Marshmallow kid", also the time when he crashed the party Lorraine and John were hosting at pigman's house and he stole and broke the pigs in the pig room, well because of that he got some beating for it from

By this point Lorraine does not need John to convince her to associate with Mr. Pignati. “I just had to go along on this trip to Beekman’s Department Store because John has absolutely no control over himself. If I had let him and Mr. Pignati go alone, John would have charged half the store” (88). The character from the lord of the flies that I admire most is Piggy. There had been countless times where I have been pushed to the point of giving up, but every single time I have had a way to escape, whether that was putting it off, making excuses or letting someone else do it, but in Piggy’s situation he had nowhere to run from his problem but he still powered through. He is a leader, He is relentless. He is thoughtful. That is why I admire Piggy the most.…

In the last few pages of his captivating novel, The Pigman, author Paul Zindel uses very heartbreaking and emotional techniques to create the events that lead up to the Pigman’s demise at the end of the story. The three main suspects I have for Mr. Pignati’s death are Norton, Bobo, and John. The first factor/character to cause Mr. Pignati’s death is Norton. One reason is that after he barged into Mr. Pignati’s house while John was throwing a party inside the house, he proceeded to trash Mr. Pignati’s place by smashing all of his pigs which angered John enough which caused the two to begin fighting.…

    Piggy's Savagery

The boy’s descent into savagery is demonstrated when Jack inconsiderately steals Piggy’s glasses. Once Jack creates his own tribe, he steals Piggy’s glasses to light a fire and boost his popularity among the new group, “[Jack] was a chief now in truth; and he made stabbing motions with his spear, from his left hand dangled Piggy’s broken glasses” (168). Jack carelessly swipes Piggy’s glasses without regard for the fact that Piggy cannot see without them. Thus, Piggy is left blind in order for Jack to further his own agenda of gaining power and celebrating savage-like hunts with a fire-centered feist. After Piggy’s death, the boys have fully descended into savagery.…

Someone on the opposing side of the argument is against the idea of The Pigman being taught at schools. They might say "The Pigman is inappropriate for children. It encourages kids to drink and party and that their parents are always the bad guys." Respectfully, I would respond by not only repeating the important lessons stated above, but also kindly proving them wrong. The children in the story do drink and party.…

“The Glass Menagerie”, “Death of a Salesman”, and “A Raisin in the Sun” all reflect the human experience. The human experience in this case involves American families during the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s that are co-dependent on each other throughout the economic and social struggles of their time. The families’ struggles transcend their time periods; people empathize with them now and will continue to do so long into the future. The stories depict experiences that feel very real and that people can relate to in their own lives. Economic hardship and dreams of a better future are common themes in these plays.…
