Eukaryotic Cell Observation

Today I am going to the science lab because I was chosen to test a machine that would shrink any living organism to a microscopic size. I arrived at the lab and sat in a room with about 4 other test subjects. We were asked to change into these protective suits so we would be kept safe from any harmful substances. We were all told that we would be put into two groups the A and the B group. We would all be put into a Eukaryotic Cell if the machine worked to get a closer look at the organelles in a Eukaryotic Cell. I was put into the A group along with another girl who looked about 16. The B group had a boy who looked about 14 and a girl who looked about 15. I guess the age varied between all of us because I am 17. The age range is 14-17 with …show more content…
There was a slightly smaller round structure within’ the Nucleus, I believe it is called the Nucleolus. The Nucleolus makes ribosomes, a new ribosome comes out every five seconds it is so cool because each ribosome is a different Neon color! There is Green,Yellow,Pink,Blue the list goes on and on there are so many different colors. The ribosomes float around above and below the cell like clouds except way faster. I learned in science class that ribosomes make proteins that are just white little spec like particles. I was exploring the cell when I bumped into the Cell Membrane. It made me fly back it was like a forcefield that threw you back instantly. The Cell Membrane is the organelle that protects the cell and decides what enters and leaves the cell. I learned that it is pretty difficult to make your way through the cytoplasm it is a clear gooey substance that is hard to move around in. It fills up the entire cell and moves all the different organelles around. I was trying to get over to the centriole when I bumped into the Golgi body. It was a thin layered organelle with dozens up dozens of layers that piled up perfectly.

b-The nucleus is an organelle found in eukaryotic cells. Inside its fully-enclosed nuclear membrane, it contains the majority of the cell's genetic material. This material is organized as DNA molecules, along with a variety of proteins, to form chromosomes. The main function of the cell nucleus is to control gene expression and mediate the replication of DNA during the cell cycle.…

Lysosomes are small organelles that break down food particles and worn-out cell parts. Most of the cell’s energy is produced in the mitochondria. Cytoplasm is gel-like fluid which many of the organelles are found. Ribosomes function as factories to produce proteins which can either be attached to the endoplasmic reticulum or float in the cytoplasm. The golgi apparatus receives materials from the endoplasmic reticulum and send them to other parts of the cell…

Each organelle is significant to its cell, which are the building blocks of life. At the center of almost every cell is a dense organelle called the Nucleus. It contains the cell's genetic material and usually has a double membrane. The double membrane that protects the nucleus is similar to the thin single membrane made up of proteins and lipids.…

Cytosol is the intra-cellular fluid that is present inside the cells. Once the process of eukaryotes starts, the fluid is separated by the cell membrane from the organelles (mitochondrial matrix) and the other contents that float about in the cytosol. Cytosol is the part of the cytoplasm that is not held by any of the organelles in the cell. On the other hand, cytoplasm is the part of the cell which is contained within the entire cell membrane. It is the total content within the cell membrane other than the contents of the nucleus of the cell.…

Centriole (E) Their structure is a small network of protein fibers which are not surrounded by a membrane but are located in an area of the cell called the centrosome. The centriole has its appearance and structure the way it is because its arrangements must be a circular and the triplet fibers that it’s made out of will eventually create a shape that is similar to a barrel when it it is arranged. One of their main function is to contribute/help with processes that involve cellular activities. One example of cell division where centriole plays a role in mitosis where the organelles creates spindle fibres.…

The inside of Prokaryote cell is a single-celled organism and basically an open unit with no compartments. There is no membrane bound organelles. However, small structures called Ribosomes are scattered throughout Cytoplasm. The cell’s DNA is located in the region of Cytoplasm called the Nucleoid region. The Nucleoid region is not the same thing as Nucleus because it’s not enclosed by a membrane.…

These go about as a boundary to keep DNA inside the core where interpretation happens. The RNA produced amid interpretation is transported out through atomic pores. Numerous proteins are integrated at the Endoplasmic reticulum. The ribosomes tie to the ER (a film bound organelle) and make an interpretation of the RNA message into protein that either navigates the layer (like a protein channel does) or is inside the ER in a vesicle (for solvent proteins that are emitted by the cell by exocytosis... like development elements and hormone proteins) (Meiner,…

A cell is the basic unit of living organisms. From single cellular organisms to humans to trees, cells compose all of them. However, cells are split into two domains, those being Eukaryotes and Prokaryotes. Prokaryotes are all unicellular and are less advanced than eukaryotes; meaning that they lack a nucleus and only have a nucleoid region. They also lack membrane bound organelles.…

The cycle cycle happens in all eukaryotes and it creates new cells and replaces the old cells. The first stage the cell undergoes is Interphase. Interphase is the longest because it doubles all of the DNA or genetic material. The next stage of the cycle is Mitosis, which is the division of the nucleus. Mitosis had 4 substages, prophase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase.…

For all organisms, prokaryotes and eukaryotes, they all must regulate the specific genes that are expressed at any given time (Campbell 365). Each organism continuously turn on and off genes in response to external and internal environmental signals. The regulation of gene expression is especially important in multicellular organisms since it is essential for the different types of cell to have their own cell specialization (Campbell 365). In order for each cell to do it’s given role, they each need to maintain a program of gene expression individually to have some genes expressed and the rest not (Campbell 365). Only 20% of protein coding genes that a human cell has might be expressed.…
