When a large corporations seek to hire new employees they use an intricate series of interviews and profiling to bring together the right candidates for the position. Employers look at several aspects such as job qualifications, special skills, and personality to find the best candidates. Employers tend to weigh heavily on qualifications and skill, however personality seems to be the deciding factor for most. The dictionary defines personality as a collection of emotional and behavioral traits that characterize a person ability to interact with society. That is, your personality is how you present yourself to the world. It is how others see you (Wallington Par 2). I am a very vocal individual that peruses opportunities when they are given. I am a conscious thinker that likes to closely examine the information given before making decisions. It described me as having a thinking nature which makes sense due to make general curiosity of how things work and wonder of how they can be improved. Several of these traits that characterize me as a debater are true, which leaves me to the question, what does that mean? Being a debater has its own advantages and disadvantages. Advantages of being a debater include being a great problem solver, quick thinker, great brainstormer, energetic and charismatic. These are great skills to process in my career field of marketing because they are qualities that employers seek. Having an energetic personality allows me to be open and kind to people while being good at thinking and brainstorming help innovate ideas to promote a progressive work environment. Disadvantages of being a debater include that being intolerant, insensitive and argumentative, however these skills sound more negative than they actually are. Being argumentative and intolerant means that I hold very strong key values, and that when I believe in something I stand behind it, and fight to prove that I am right. These may seem like disadvantages but to me these are attributes that set me apart form the rest.
