When I found out we were going to be reading “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” in class I was excited. For many years, I considered Perks to be my favorite book, and I had reread it during different stages in my life. Every time I reread the book I somehow always ended up feeling like I related to Charlie more and more. Rereading the book also brought back a lot of memories to me, the first time I read the book was in 7th grade and at the time I was a bit of a loner, I didn’t talk much and I liked to observe things. I learned a lot about the people around me but they didn’t know I knew, so I stayed quiet about them, and I felt like I related to Charlie in that sense.
