The tunnel symbols Charlie’s transition into high school. The tunnel has appeared several times in the book. Its most important appearance was at the end of the book. Charlie, Sam and Patrick was driving through the tunnel on a pick-up truck. Charlie saw the lights at downton of the tunnel, which is another use of symbolism for his future life.
Irony
The major irony in The Perks of Being a Wallflower is Aunt Helen. Charlie talked a lot about Aunt Helen and referred her as his favorite person in the world. However, Charlie doesn't remember what she did to him. Aunt Helen sexually abused him. In my opinion, the title of the book is also ironic. The title can also be ironic. Charlie and his friends are wallflowers. In the book, it talked about how bad things happened to each of the wallflowers and does not talk about the perks.
