Juliet struggles to find logic and reason for her actions when Romeo is banished to Mantua in Act III, Scene II states “Romeo is exiled… I a maid die maiden-widowed… Death, not Romeo, take my maidenhead.”(Line 135). Immediately desperate to be with Romeo, Juliet is willing to do take evasive action to delay the marriage. Consequently, if she fails, Juliet is forced to deny her loyalty to Romeo, and marry Paris. Upon saying this, her bold tone reveals the sudden decision of killing herself in order to remain faithful to the one she is enamored with. With this in mind, Shakespeare is implying that love takes over a teen’s life, and that it morphs their perception of the truth, and in turn, death as well.
