"I am cheated," Kino cried fiercely. " My pearl is not for sale here. I will go, perhaps even to the capitol." Taken from page 52 from the novel shows us a good description of how greed came on to Kino. This happened in the stage of selling the pearl to the buyers were Kino was given an offer of one thousand pesos but instead rejected it as he thought he was being offered to low for his pearl. He later claimed in the novel that he thinks the whole act of the buyers was all planned out that they knew Kino was going to arrive with a pearl that one thousand pesos offering was already planned.
