Throughout the movie, Benjamin and Travington show their constant hate to each other by giving each other mean looks and talking smack to each other. Also, Benjamin makes Cornwallis angry by hijacking his supply lines and stealing his personal gear, including two Great Danes. The action in the movie takes place mainly during battles and raids on supply lines. Some of the action also takes place at two plantations, one being Benjamin’s when the British army recovers after a brutal battle, and the other being his sister-in-law’s plantation while Travington is trying to search for Benjamin’s family. The battles during the movie were The Battle of Camden, The Siege of Charlestown (not shown on screen but talked about), The Battle of Yorktown, and the climax battle which is a mix of two different battles (Battle of Cowpens and the Battle of Guilford Courthouse.) that will be explained later. The historical background of the movie is the battles that the Colonies and British fought in the South during the American Revolution and the group of militia called The Patriots that help fight alongside the Continental army. The significance of the action at the Battle of Camden was to show how badly the Continental army and the militia were losing the war, from that it set the mood in the story of danger and the underdog struggle …show more content…
It contained a lot of action and it was fun for me to relate events throughout the movie. The movie taught me about the group of people called “the patriots”, which other than talk in class I didn't really understand what they were. The movie also showed me visual demonstration of Linear tactics, which has helped my understanding in class. I already knew about some of the weapons and uniforms they used and I also knew about the Battle of Yorktown. In conclusion, I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes a good action/adventure and would like to learn more about the civil
