My interest in creating art came at an early age. I use to draw in the dirt and hand build sculptures out of the mud. Nature was my canvas and my medium. I enjoyed getting my hands dirty and being physically involved with the construction of something entirely my own.

I was required to personally hang my paintings professionally in a gallery in order to graduate. In order to do this, I had to follow a strict formula, so that they would be at eye-level for my viewers. Though this seemed frustrating at the time, I realize that learning how to hang my own artwork in a gallery professionally was an extremely valuable asset. After I had hung my paintings, and the reception for the show was held, I ended up being the one who sold the most paintings—seven out of the nine total. The show was successful and so was my body of work. I graduated Cum Laude with a 3.66 GPA in my major and a 3.51 overall. I began my undergraduate studies at Radford University with a major in art education. This seemed like the most logical path that I could choose in order to share my passion for art. At the end of my junior year, I took an oil painting class in order to fulfill the general requirements for graduation. This class changed the entire direction of my college career and sparked a passion with a medium that I had never experienced
