Apostasy In Religion

The Christian life is filled with concerns and no place is more evident to find these than in the pastoral responsibilities God has entrusted to the leadership of the church. Satan has been working against the church from and early time causing this concerns to rise, but looking at the views Paul 's warnings in (2 Timothy 3) about the increase of apostasy in the last days and what we are witnessing today in the church, Paul 's instructions in (Him 1:3-7 are very significant. These instructions are very important for today 's leadership; they are or can be called "critical instructions" for pastoral ministry.
These are matters that are important to leadership as well as to the well being of the church of God as a whole. The instructions given

Many churches today do not preach Christ. Some preach politics or philosophy. Others preach that we need to help and love our neighbor. Some preach against war, poverty and crime . Others preach religion . Man trying to reach God their way. Paul was different to all of them. He encouraged timothy and Titus to preach Christ. The only hope for men is found in the Son of God Jesus Christ.
Some pastors or ministers only preach the Gospels or Psalms or other favorite passages. There are many parts of the word of God which they don 't preach about. Others preach continually about salvation, but do not help people understand how to live a Christian life. John 3:16 is an amazing verse, but in the bible there 's more than John 3:16. If God wanted us to just know John 3:16 only, than our bible would be very small. Paul asks Timothy to preach the whole bible. If someone is to preach the word then he is to study the whole word of truth from God . In 2 Tim 3:16 says "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness". A pastor needs to understand what God has said about his church . The main reason Paul Wrote

A lot of churches have men that call themselves bishops, others call themselves directors. Do the pastoral letters say that there should be bishops and directors in the church?

1 Tim 3:12 says "Let the deacons be husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well."

Also in 1 Tim 5:17 says "Let the ELDERS that rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially they who labor in the word and doctrine"

There are many other things that are practiced in the church that are not mentioned in this letters; likewise a lot of the things that are mentioned do not get practiced in today 's church . Why is it like this?

A good pastor has to practice what he preaches otherwise people would say "Your acts are speaking so loud that we can barely hear what you 're saying".

He should preach the truth and live the truth. Timothy was instructed to take care not only of the doctrine he was preaching but also of his testimony to others. In (1 Tim 4:2-Titus 2:7). Timothy was told to be an example to the believers so they would look at him and say "that what a believer should be".
Paul also told Timothy to Exercise himself to godliness (1 Tim 4:8) Physical exercise is

Amongst the feeling of grief, Timothy must have known that just as Paul had dedicated his life to sharing the gospel of Christ and Him crucified, he must also commit to the same truth. Paul lived his life by the message that Jesus died so that all people could be brought back to a holy God. He always kept this ideal at the center of everything that he did, and it always showed in his teaching. In the second chapter, Mahaney uses the analogy of stretching muscles before exercise to demonstrate the proper attitude of the heart in considering the…

The sixth reading in chapter one of our texts Pursuing Happiness, edited by Matthew Parfitt and Dawn Skorczewski, presents material translated from The Gospel of Matthew. I studied sources to find out more about this ancient text, and in the paragraphs below. I am going to talk about to whom the book of Matthew written to, who was Matthew as an apostle, and what he accomplished by his gospel. Matthew was one of the twelve apostles chosen by Jesus Christ himself and is the first Chapter in the Christianity bible, although those that stress Matthew’s alleged dependence on Mark for a substantial part of his gospel. Some scholars started to abandon Matthew’s authorship, But is that even the case.…

To the churches are Romans, 1 and 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, and Philippians, Colossians and 1 and 2 Thessalonians. To people, 1 and 2 Timothy, Titus, and Philemon. Docetism In Jesus

It is interesting concept that the four Gospels delineate the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus, with little attention giving to his life and development as a leader. Matthew and Luke’s Gospels trace Jesus’ genealogy. In Mark’s Gospel, Jesus is introduced as a grown man whereas John focus on His Divinity. Granted, we scrutinize, dissect, exegete and preach his teachings and ministry, but we never consider the sociopolitical dynamics of his early life’s that shaped and formed his ministry. Hendricks emphatically contends that churches have adopted a modern form of Docetism, which he coined as Political Docetism.…

Next, one must examine why women are prohibited from preaching the word of God. The prohibition of women teaching or preaching comes from Paul’s letter in 1 Timothy 2:12 “But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet.” Susan Foh, in her article argues that this passage does not limit women from any form of teaching other men, but rather that; “what is forbidden to women in 1 Timothy 2:12 is the exercise of authority” Nevertheless, Foh argues that the context in which Paul was writing, he was addressing the church and the practice of worship. Thus, she concludes that the specific type of activity that is meant by “teaching and having authority” refers to the office of elder, including pastor-teacher.…

"Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God. " - Acts 20:28 This past Sunday, Pastor Caleb preached about what it means when we claim that we believe in the church. The church provides us with much in our lives, such as support, strength, and mean. As members of the church, we are called not only to be a part of this community for what the church does for us, but also we are called to be a part of this community by what is does for others.…

A few years after Christ, Paul was born to a family of Jews in the City of Tarsus. His parents were both of Jewish lineage, resulting in his practicing of Judaism in his adolescence. During his schooling, Gamaliel, a Pharisee in Jerusalem, was Paul’s teacher. Paul spent his childhood learning to convert all followers of other faiths to Judaism using any means necessary. The occasional quotes from Greek poets in Paul’s writings allude that Paul also learned Greek and other languages from Gamaliel.…

The Bible is for us to understand the truth behind the Lord and understand each book in context. We connect with the Lord more and more each time we read the Scriptures and as a result gain something from it. Our effects and outcomes of what we read brings us closer to God as well. Paul states that we must not just read the Scriptures, but merely look at the words, examine them thoroughly, and insure the force and impact with the Bible’s purposes. When we read the Bible, we should not rush through it as if we don’t have time.…

As Apostle Paul is writing an exhortation to the Romans, his main objective is to restore the biblical foundations of the faith and establish the love of Christ that has imparted to all believers. Following what Paul has already laid clear, I would teach the book of Romans by hitting the main themes that Paul argues: the free gift of righteousness, by the love of grace, flowing through work of Christ, giving all men an escape from the reign of sin into the reign of grace, which gives men the power of grace to walk out a life of righteousness in union with Christ. As Paul begins his letter to the Romans, he first lays the foundation of his exhortation: the obedience to the gospel, the gospel of god’s free acceptance and the doctrine of the…

The basis for Old Testament asceticism was to be set apart from the Gentile nations around Israel. Holiness would be found in the bodily actions of the people of God. In addition, the Church adopted many of the ascetical practices of Judaism. With the persecution of the Church ending, monastic life sprung up. Many sought to grow in their spirituality through bodily discipline.…

Introduction into this book and videos covers how we need to set long term goals, but before doing so we need to ask ourselves some questions. Before we can set those goals we should seek to know Christ. This can be done by reading the four gospels and seeing what Jesus did, what we can learn from him, and how does it relate to us? Jesus’ last commandment was to go and make disciples, and while principles never change, our methods have to change in order to reach the current generation, and each beyond. As we get into the chapters we learn that men are God’s method and while they may seem unlearned or ignorant by man’s standards, God uses those willing to learn and raises them into leadership.…
