The Parsley Garden

In the story “The Parsley Garden” by William Saroyan, is about a little turkish boy named Al Condraj who lived in Fresno, CA. He stole a small hammer and later regrets it and works for it. He was wandering around without a penny and thought the hammer was just what he needed it and decided to steal it and gets caught. Later he gets offered a job and learns that working hard will get you what you want.
“Mr. Clemmer gave me the hammer after I’d worked for one hour; but I went right on working.” Al passed by the store again and this time his boss put him to work with him. He worked and at the end the boss, Mr. Clemmer, gave him the hammer he had stolen. Al worked and got what he wanted which was the hammer. He learns that working hard pays off
