First, I like to think I'm a genuinely honest person. From a very young age, my parents always told me that if I lied, the secret would eventually come out, which helped instill some fear that prevented me from lying. Although it's hard at times, I always try to tell the truth because I know that either the guilt I'll feel from lying will tear me apart, or I'll just get into more trouble if I'm caught. I also tend to act with integrity in all the situations I can. I was taught to do the right thing or else face consequences, so I've continued to try to live up to that as I've grown older. It's true that I don't take many chances, and I'm probably one of the least rebellious people you could find, but I'd rather do that than look back and face a life of bad decisions. I try to apply character and integrity to every aspect of my life, whether that be a conscious or an unconscious decision. Once again, it is nearly impossible for one to follow their own standards of character one-hundred percent of the time, but I do try live up to these values most of the time.
