INNER VOICE
Of course. It’s genius! It won’t cause as much pain which is a con, but other than that good choice.
SHELLY
Now there will be no mess. No blood to clean. They won’t even have to clean me up. Just throw me in the box and send me six feet below. The only question is where do I get them?
INNER VOICE
You know Mommy dearest has a whole cabinet full. The past eighteen years have taken quite the toll on her. You can take them all because as soon as you’re gone she won’t need any of them anymore. Heck, your dad probably has some too with as horrible as you are. In fact, I would put good money on this entire household being on some form of medication to be able to deal with living with you.
SHELLY
I didn’t mean to be such a difficult child. I tried my best to be normal. But if I take all her pills she won’t have to worry about them or me ever again.

(SHELLY crosses over to the bed. She takes a pillow case off of one of her pillows and exits. After a few seconds an SFX of rifling through a pill cabinet plays.)

INNER VOICE
Make sure you get the good stuff. This has to work the first time or they’ll know what you’ve really been thinking and then they’ll send you away. And then any chance you had of killing yourself will be gone. They’ll be watching you like a hawk 24/7.
SHELLY (O.S)
There’s so much here. I don’t know what’s going to work the best.
INNER VOICE
Come on, did you forget to listen to what I said? Grab it all!
SHELLY (O.S)
Zoloft. Xanax. Valium. Lexapro.

As for the article “from Song of Myself” by Walt Whitman illustrates how everything in nature has a purpose, and how he loves being outdoors and being around people who work outdoors, like builders, and sailors. One connection I found between Walt and Theodore is how they both described the nature of animals . For example, Walt described “The brood of the turkey-hen and she with her half-spread wings.” As for Theodore he expressed the gulls “Even the gulls quiet on the far rocks.” Another connection I found between the two authors is how they mention how nature is scattering.…
