The Outsiders: Similarities And Differences

When choosing a side it can be very difficult. In the book The Outsiders the Socs and Greasers are from different parts of town, and although they don’t really get along they have many similarities, and differences. From their wealth and potential, what they have, and view of themselves they have more likenesses than differences. The wealth and potential is a big part in the outsiders. Both have some type of potential in their lives. They both have a green light to go to college when they graduate. Also they both have some type of income. But, the difference is that they are either born into a Greaser family or a socs family. Most Greaser families can't afford to go to college. Socs don't have to worry about their further education. That involves the wealth the Socs are born into money and have whatever they want or ask for and the Greasers have to work for everything they have. Wealth and potential is important in their future. From what they have are alike and different in many ways. Both are in some type of gang, and they also live in the same town. On the East Side the Greasers live in bad houses. On the West Side the Socs live in big houses and nice neighborhoods. On the other hand, The Socs have nice cars like, mustangs and the Greasers have to walk everywhere. The Socs have lots of money to get what they want when they want it. The Greaser don't have very much money they have enough to get by. All the Socs only have rich friends they only care about themselves. The greasers have friends that care about each other, and always want to have a good time. Both groups think they are stronger than everyone else. They think that they are superior to everybody. Like when they do something they think that no one can do it as good as them. The ways both groups view themselves is very
