I am dreamer whom loves to read. From a child a book was my only retreat to a different world. Even if the book had hardship I was happy they weren't my own. The great Escape, a personal exemption from reality. As I rewind Katmarie's life I see her in the local library as a 5th grade student where she was about to pick the her first "big girl" novel, about to open her mind to something other than 'where the wild things are' or 'Green eggs and Ham'. And it read Tex by S. E. Hlton. After persuading my mother i could read it, i went home and finished it in three days i remember sneaking in class, agitating my sister about words I didn't understand, having the feeling of just one more page tonight. I simply just loved it. And I grew, I grew reading Tex, somehow I didn't realize but I grew up just a little and embraced a new love for reading that would later help me discover who I am. …show more content…
I had experienced every emotion a person could experience reading 'The Outsiders. Being in love with Dallas. Wanting to have Ponyboy read to me. And being pissed off and crying my eyes out over Johnny's death. Why did he have to die "no no no stop being a good person and leave the kids Johnny no" rolled into a ball freaking out and having my sister in the bed across the room look at me if i was some sort of lunatic. But I didn't care because I knew these guys they were my friends, my gang, I grew up in Oklahoma, i was apart of the fights, I live all one hundred ninety-two pages. It was for the first time my hardships too. Changing the way I thought as a child. S. E. Hlton fast became my favorite author, inspiration, girl crush!
