In the court scene of the movie, Ponyboy was called to the stand to talk. But from what I saw, Ponyboy was asked whether Johnny had fought in self defense. This part made me feel that Ponyboy was a more important part in Johnny trial than I thought and that he was taken more seriously. Ponyboy always acted like he was treated as a kid, but he really wasn't. He was treated as an adult by the judge and all of his gang treated him like one. Besides all the differences, the movie was extremely faithful to the book. I noticed that through a majority of the movie, there was word for word dialogue that was straight from the book. Most of Dally's, Ponyboy's, and Johnny's dialogue was straight from the book. Another faithful factor of the movie was that all the actors looked very much like what I expected them to look like in the book. The casting directors made fantastic choices in choosing their actors. Almost all of the scenes in the book were included in the movie and only a few were taken out.
