In the movie, Johnny dies after receiving third degree burns and paralysis from the fire at the church that has been mentioned within the previous paragraph, telling Ponyboy to stay gold which relates to the book's theme which is the loss of innocence. In the book, Johnny dies the same way, telling a Ponyboy those same words. In the movie, after Johnny dies, Dally blows up and goes on a rampage, robbing a store and pulling out a non-loaded gun on the owner causing the owner to contact the police in which they chase Dally down after he calls the gang. The gang is all there to witness Dally being shot to death by the police. In the book, Darry is called by Dally who informs the gang, that the cops are on his tail, and that he'll meet the gang at the old lot. From there, we follow the gang on their way to the old lot and then they see Dally running from the police and is ultimately killed. Dally snaps and ends up killing himself because Johnny was the only person and/or thing that Dally really loved and living in a world without having someone to love or to love you is not really a world that holds anything for you or a world worth living. Dally knew that and ended his suffering before it could really expand. So the feelings and deaths were captured and were similar in both the moves and the

How can one simply alter another's life? There is a novel called The Outsiders, and was written by S.E. Hinton, to partly show that anyone can write an intriguing book. In the book, the main protagonist is called Ponyboy, who is a “greaser” as stated in chapter one, “but I am a greaser” (Hinton 1). Some of the choices made by Dally, Darry, and Soda affect Pony’s life, how he sees himself, and relationships with his brothers.…

But in the film, he began with Ponyboy, Johnny, and Dally walking to the movies. The next difference from the beginning of the story was when Cherry asked Pony to go with her to buy some popcorn and drinks for the rest as in Johnny, Marcie, and the other two socs which also was a difference because those socs didn’t appear to talk to Cherry and Marcie. Next difference was inside the store to buy snacks and drinks there was happing an argument which wasn’t in the book as well. Third, difference was when Pony and Johnny were leaving to take Johnny to his house and both of them saw Johnny’s parents arguing. Which didn’t happen in the book, in the book Ponyboy and Johnny were at the lot before going to their houses.…

For my film analysis, I chose to analyze the movie “The Outsiders” directed by Francis Ford Coppola and based on the novel “The Outsiders” by S. E. Hinton. In this movie, a gang of outcasts from the north side of town called the Greasers are always fighting against a rival group called the Socials, who are the rich jocks from the south side of town. The story follows two young Greasers, Johnny and Ponyboy, who aren’t like the others. These two see that fighting is pointless, but it’s just the way they live their life. The two boys get into a fight with some Socials and end up killing one.…
