The Outsiders: Differences Between The Socs And Greasers

Exposition: we meet Ponyboy Curtis, a greaser at the age fourteen. Rising action: Ponyboy, after getting into a fight with his brother Darry, runs t the park with his best friend, Johnny. Conflict: while at the park, they are confronted by Socs, who try to drown Ponyboy. Johnny ends up killing one of them in self-defense. Another rising action includes the two hiding in an abandoned church with the help of the "dangerous hood", Dallas Winston. Climax: when the church catches on fire, Ponyboy and Johnny rescue the schoolchildren who had stopped there for a field trip. In this, Johnny is badly burned and his back is broken, landing him in the hospital. The falling action includes a rumble between the Socs and Greasers; and while the Greasers
