The Outsiders By Francis Ford Coppola

The Outsiders movie is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a long time. It’s similar to the book, portrays the characters well, and just has this overall feel of realisticness to it. Meaning, it gives the vibe of a real life story. It’s about Ponyboy Curtis and Johnny Cade, and how they ran away after Johnny stabbed a Soc when they got jumped. It was written by S.E Hinton and directed by Francis Ford Coppola. The movie came out in 1983 receiving mostly positive reviews and is still loved to this day. Partially because the cast was full of up-and-coming stars such as C. Thomas Howell, Tom Cruise, Emilio Estevez, Rob lowe, Matt Dillon, Patrick Swayze, Ralph Macchio, and Diane Lane.
Personally, I think the actors were effective. They all played

S.E Hinton wrote the outsiders when she was in high school and did not plan to publish the story. Since then it has been made into a book and a movie. I think the book was bad because it did not give the effects that the movie did. I liked the movie because it had more of the story put into it detail wise. While the book and movie have many similarities and differences, the movie was more effective in telling the story.…

Did you know that the movie for the outsiders is only roughly one hour and thirty minutes. Some might say that the movie the outsiders makes you have less sympathy for Johnny and Dally. I am saying this because in the book Dally sounds like he wanted to die more in the book. I am saying this because when it was written in the book even said he had a look of triumph in his eye, and in the movie, it seemed that he was scared and how he didn't want to die. The book is better.…

Albert Einstein once said, “Peace cannot be kept by force; it can only be achieved by understanding.” This quote perfectly describes the alter in Ponyboy’s demeanor towards the Socs. In S.E Hinton’s book, The Outsiders, the main character’s attitude towards the higher class socials changes over the course of the novel, transitioning from feelings of fear and avoidance, to feelings of openness and acceptance. Ponyboy is labeled a Greaser, which is the opposite of a Soc, therefore pronouncing them rivals. Unlike the others, Pony doesn’t have a “tough guy” “ready-to-fight” approach towards the Socs, but more of a scared, intimidated mindset.…

For my film analysis, I chose to analyze the movie “The Outsiders” directed by Francis Ford Coppola and based on the novel “The Outsiders” by S. E. Hinton. In this movie, a gang of outcasts from the north side of town called the Greasers are always fighting against a rival group called the Socials, who are the rich jocks from the south side of town. The story follows two young Greasers, Johnny and Ponyboy, who aren’t like the others. These two see that fighting is pointless, but it’s just the way they live their life. The two boys get into a fight with some Socials and end up killing one.…
