Phil, I understand your problem, you’re not sure if you want to watch the movie or read the book The Outsiders. I will tell you that they are both very good, the movie has its own strong points as well as the book. In this letter I will tell you my opinions on both the movie and book, and tell you which you should do first. So I’m telling you that to me the book is better than the movie, here is my first reason. The book has so much more detail than the movie, they book describes every character perfectly, from what they look like, to what they think or do, and even where they live, I’ll give you some sample from the book.
