S.E. was in high school when she wrote the book the Outsiders . Also fun fact about the movie is the scripts were taken right out of the book. I would say that the book was more effective, and had a lot more details. The movie was good but I didn’t like how they skipped a few parts that were in the book. While the book and movie have many similarities and differences, the ( book ) was more effective in telling the story. First of all is the scene where the rumble takes place, this was a very important part of the two of them. The first comparable scene is when ( the greasers went to the rumble. ) In both the book and movie they did really well on showing the emotions of characters. I would say that the similarity is with how they described how everyone felt was great in both. There are also differences too. In the book they had so much details on what was happening and how everything rolled out. Now with the movie to me it just looked like one big fight, you couldn't see anything it was just one big blob of people fighting. The ( book ) was more effective during this scene because (it gave more details when it came to …show more content…
In this scene Dally had just robbed a store. He got the cops on him ran to the vacant lot and then pulled out a gun at the police to commit suicide because he couldn't handle Johnny dieing. A similarity for when Dally got killed is that in both the book and movie they gave a lot of details on what happened, and where it took place. Some differences are that in the movie they took out a part of the scene where Pony faints I didn’t really like that, and I thought that the book was better for this scene because of how they described what everyone's reactions to Dally dying. The ( book ) was more effective during this scene because (the movie took parts out and didn’t show/describe the reactions
