Her school had different types of social groups and she didn’t like that. So she wrote a book about it she was 17 when she wrote it. She put her name as S.E because she didn’t want anyone to prejudge her for writing about a book about boys. In (Doc.B) Ponyboy forgot he was in one of the socs classes. So when the razor wouldn’t cut the frog he got out his switchblade. Then the girl sitting next to him told him “They are right. You are a hood.” Then Ponyboy got mad. Then he starts talking about this poem he read. The meaning of the poem is that nothing last. The outsider is Jonny and Ponyboy. (Doc.E) ponyboy is taking to randy who is a socs. Randy tells Ponyboy that he doesn’t want to fight them because. It’s not going to do no good. So he wants to run away but he afraid, that everyone is going to call him a chicken. So he said “so I’d fight if I thought it’d do any good. I think I’m going to leave town. Take my little old mustang and all the dough I can carry and get out.” After that conversation randy said “thanks grease” to Ponyboy and then he said “I didn’t mean that” so I know from that point on there just an outsider like everyone else. (Doc.F) Dally and Ponyboy goes and sees Jonny who is in the hospital. They tell him that they won the fight against the socs. That’s when Jonny told them that fighting is useless and no good. So Dally and Ponyboy starts telling Jonny that people are calling him a hero, for saving those kids in the burning church. Before Jonny past away he tells Ponyboy to stay gold. This means to never change. The outsiders in the 3 document are the greasers and socs. So no matter who you are or what group you are in, you will always be and outsider to other people. But that doesn’t mean to change yourself, just stay yourself even if other people don’t like
