After a couple of weeks and lots of reading she finally decides on Camp Talequa, upon arriving she finds out that she’s the only new girl in Cabin Meadowlark. On the first day Margaret says “I prefer not to” when she’s told to switch bunks, all through camp she says “I prefer not to” when she doesn’t want to answer. Soon all the Alums play pranks on her for example peeing in her bed, clogging the pipes to her shower and stealing her clothes. A week and a half passes by and she’s taken home to 19 Schuyler Place by Uncle Alexander, where both of the Rose brothers are extremely depressed and try hide a secret from her. Reading a newspaper in library reveals that the towers that Margaret and her mother love so much are being taken down in a few months. After finding a picture of Peter Vanderwaal and Loretta Bevilaqua when they were kids playing on a tower, Margaret finds them and tells them what’s happening to the towers and they come up with a plan each of them have a job to do Margaret has to stall, Peter has to stop, and Loretta has to save. My favorite characters are Margaret, Morris and Alexander Rose. I like Margaret because she’s not afraid to fight for what she believes in and reminds me to never give up. The Rose brothers absolutely adore Margret and would do anything for her which they prove when they let Margaret buy the towers and protect her when the construction works attempt to take down the towers. They often argue but they also live life to the fullest and teach the reader that it’s okay to argue with siblings as long as you love each other because no one is
