Joy wanted what was best for her own son’s wellbeing, she did everything that was possible known to man, so that she was able to send her son to Riverdale, and go away out to Pennsylvania, to attend Valley Forge. In contrast, Mary wasn’t able to afford that kind of schooling for her son Wes. So she had no other choice but to send her son to public schooling in Baltimore. This was most likely where Wes II began to get affiliated with the bad crowds, people, and mischievous way of being. Furthermore, Wes I always had someone to come to home to everyday afterschool, whether it was his own mother, sisters, or grandparents. But on the other hand, Wes II did not have that type of welcoming. By having this happen to Wes, it was even easier for him to commit bad things, having nobody around the house all day, and all. Joy was always working from sun up to sun down to provide for her son, but the sad part was that she wasn’t there for him when he got back from school to hear about how it was going for him at school. Lastly, Wes I’s mother Joy, who was a very hardworking women, she worked multiple jobs to make ends meet. She knew exactly how to raise her own kids, and what paths they had to head in, in order to be successful. Joy knew that having a good education on one’s shoulder, is mandatory in this life, to turn out successful. However, Mary had an almost identical mindset as Joy, but was not quite there yet, if at all. Wes II’s mother is very loving, and caring towards her son Wes, but she is mostly likely the major reason towards Wes being affiliated with drugs in the first place, and why he ended up in life like he did, behind bars in prison. Because Wes was introduced to drugs by the very person that gave birth to him, he found his mother’s weed stash in her drawer, and it was all downhill from that point.
