The Other Wes Moore: One Name, Two Fates

What would be your thoughts if you found out that there was someone in the world that had your name, was from the same city and state as you, and lived a similar but different lifestyle as you did? For me that would be very odd. Even though my name is a common name, I’m sure there is no one in this world that we share somewhat of the same lifestyle. I find it interesting that it can happen. The author, Wes Moore, of the book, “The Other Wes Moore: One Name, Two Fate”, found out that he was not the only Wes Moore that lived in Baltimore streets. He found out there was another Wes Moore who shared his name and lived only streets away from him. Not only did they share names but they both were faced with similar situations that neither one of them new about until they were grown. It was the environment that support of their mothers that led them to live different lives. Wes Moore mother was determined that Wes would have a better life. Wes was given chances after chances to make the right decisions. Since he couldn’t, he was put into military school to help give him discipline to make better choices. The other Wes stayed in the environment that he was brought up in. He could not get away from selling of drugs. His mother worked a lot. She could not keep him out of the streets like she wanted to. The other Wes tried to make a changed by going to Job Corps. He could not because he went back to his old environment that pulled him back into selling drugs that led to doing more crimes.
